WIP Wednesday: 3 on the go

I had a lovely weekend with friends last week, down on the Dawesville Estuary south of Perth. Five of us camped out in a house overlooking the water and sewed and ate and drank champagne… And sewed and ate some more… I’ve been feeling rather blocked lately in the sewing space – too many other worries so it was good to get away and take only a selection of solids and a few other random assorted pieces of fabric. I tried to do a scrappy Metro Rings with my Quick Curve Ruler but got frustrated, did something else and then came back to it… and decided to make up a table runner instead.

When I got home, I finished off the red curves on my metro medallion quilt (hurrah!) changed thread to black and started on the borders. I was trying for something like this:

Not 100% successful but good practice…metromedallionquilting

As a little bit of a break from all the curviness and solids, I cut into a Tula Pink Birds and the Bees charm pack that I’ve had since Sewing Summit… A bit of grey linen and there we have it. I’m loving how this looks and can’t wait to quilt it.

Now TGIFFriday is on here this week – which do you think I should finish?!

  1. Love the bright colors in the curvy table runner. I reminds me of a slice of a hot air balloon. Your trip with your friends sounds wonderful and productive!!
