I woke up to the strangest sound the other night. It was … raining. Haven’t heard that in a while around here! So I picked up a little rain-themed flimsy that needed quilting, basted it and got started on the quilting.

I didn’t QUITE have enough for the back, so used a strip of linen-look print to break it up. The rest of the fabric is the low volume prints from Kate Spain’s Sunnyside.

I’m ditching then quarter-inching and most unusually for me, I’m loving the simplicity. As you can see, it’s still warm enough to be trotting around in bling encrusted sandals.

I’ve still got some blank space to fill so something is going to have to happen… I’ll be stalking the Green Fairy for inspiration.  I think I’ll just quilt the white spaces though… Any suggestions?

WIP Wednesday is on at Freshly Pieced, so check it out!

  1. What a great design, I love the subtleness of the colored prints against the background. Looking forward to seeing how you decide to quilt it.

  2. I like the general feel of this quilt. Something about the simple path shapes appeals. About the quilting, have you though of using echo quilting? It will leave the emphasis on your paths
