WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

Summer is coming Down Under so it’s time to get those summer frocks out! I was at my local fabric store when I spotted a pool of white-n-black cotton sateen loveliness on the discount table reduced to $3/m, down from $12.99. Unheard of! I asked what was wrong and there were two TINY pink marks – on the back. So I grabbed 3m, spent $17 on a pattern, and THIS is what happened.

I didn’t plan well enough to have lining fabric at the time, so this is in my WIP pile waiting for some time to finish it off. It fits perfectly and looks amazing. ๐Ÿ™‚ I went shopping on the weekend with my mum and can honestly say I didn’t find anything ย as nice – well, nothing as nice in the non-ridiculously-priced-designer-section-that-I-never-shop-in-anyway areas.

I also have to finish off my jewellery case pattern with an alternate ending. We are nearly there…ย jewellery case wip

These ‘Plum Crazy’ blocks are also in the WIP pile. They are coming to the Perth Modern quilt meeting with me on Sunday – there are 4 to finish off.

I’m still battling away on my King Size Terrain quilt – I just haven’t had time to sew in the last two weeks. ย I know, it’s disgraceful. I will go and sit in the corner with the dunces hat on … ย This weekend’s excuse was an Angels and Demons party at which I was masquerading as official party photographer. (Here’s a tip: If you are going to masquerade as photographer, it’s a good idea to know what lens you have on your camera. It kinda ruins your cred if you don’t.) Anyway, here’s me with my lovely neighbour Heather as proof of the shennanigans.

Happy Hump Day!
