About a thousand years ago (or so it seems) I was a Bee-leader and asked for the Lemons and Limes block from Modern Blocks… One very good very stylish friend screwed up and made her block the wrong size, but she gave it to me anyway. I’m sure she did another one that went into the quilt but this one has been lying around for ages.
I was about to chuck it in a fit of clearing upness (which doesn’t happen often) however two things happened.
1) I needed to rethread the Sweet 16 and needed a practice piece to test the tension
2) A dog walked in, looked for something comfy to lie on to be near me while sewing and surprisingly, didn’t find anything so lay on the cold hard tiles (it’s mid winter here).
I decided to quilt the piece and try out Quilt-As-You-Go on the Sweet 16. It worked nicely.
So the orphan block has turned into a Melly-mat!
Ok the binding is not quite finished, but I’m declaring it almost-finish-August. I’d love to see what you’ve been up to! Remember to
